Terms of use

What the service does

UnsealPDF removes a password you provide, or permission restrictions, from PDF files, and gives you the unlocked copy. It does not guess, crack or recover passwords or bypass rights-management systems.

Your responsibility

You confirm that you own each file or have permission from the owner to open it and remove its password or restrictions. Do not upload files you are not allowed to modify. This confirmation is required before processing.

Signed documents

Unlocking a signed or certified PDF breaks its signatures. We warn you first. You are responsible for deciding whether that is acceptable.

No guarantee of acceptance

We check that the unlocked copy opens and matches your original's content. We do not guarantee that any third party will accept it.

Payment

You pay once per job after results are verified, on a page hosted by Stripe. Prices are shown before payment. See the refund policy.

Availability

We may pause new jobs. Anything you already paid for remains available for its download window or is refunded.

As is, and limits

UnsealPDF is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid for that job, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that cannot be limited.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the version on this page applies when you use the service. Questions: hello@unsealpdf.com.
